You Cannot and Will Not Win!

I was reading the Foxnews.com article about Gordon Browns' trip to Camp David, when I came across this quote from Brown: "Terrorism is not a cause, it is a crime and it is a crime against humanity," which is true and I agree with the statement, but it got me thinking what is terrorisms ultimate goal? It's true that it is not a cause but the Islamofascists don't believe that. They believe that it is the greatest of causes, and that the end game of their cause is a world that submits to the authority of Islam.
The problem with this scenario is that they have greatly underestimated the will and faith of the free people of the United States. Where in our history would they get the idea that Americans would submit to a fascist religious force? We have shown time and time again our hatred of fascism of any sort, political or religious, and are very willing to fight against it. If the Imans of the Muslim faith really believe that the U.S. will someday become an Islamic state, then they are delusional. We are not the America they see on television, we are working men and women who are just as determined to protect our children and our faith as they seem to be to destroy them. We are the so-called "fly-over country". The poor working stiffs with a dog on the porch and an arsenal of shotguns, handguns and miscellaneous weaponry (God bless the NRA) and there are a lot of us. We are not just our military force (God bless them also), we are every man, woman and child that will fight to the death against a fascist regime of any kind. If provoked, we will throw off the shackles of political correctness and get down in the mud and get dirty. If the Islamofascists keep poking at the wasp's nest they will get stung. The events after 9/11 showed this to some extent, but Bubba and me are getting just about fed up with what passes for homeland security. In my home I have, and always will have, security and I believe a lot of Americans can make that same statement. The message to the terrorist is clear, you will never win the hearts and minds of the American people, and you will have to fight to the very last one of us who believe Jesus is the son of God. So it is a simple as this: You cannot and will not win!

Somewhere a Village is Missing Its' Hillary

As the democrats spoke today to the ultra left Urban League they all vowed to endorse their 10-point "opportunity compact", chief among the proposals is the mandatory early childhood education beginning as young as age 3 and guaranteed access to college for all. Hillary Clinton promised "to focus like a laser on those earliest years."
"After all these years, I still believe it takes a village to raise a child," Clinton said.
Once again the far left is trying to reach into our homes and tell us "what's best " for us. With the failure of The Head Start program you'd think the left would've learned a lesson.
"Consider the views of child-development scholar Edward Zigler, a founder of Head Start. As far back as 1987, when educators were debating the merits of universal preschool, he warned, "'This is not the first time universal preschool education has been proposed…[In the past], as now, the arguments in favor of preschool education were that it would reduce school failure, lower dropout rates, increase test scores, and produce a generation of more competent high school graduates….Preschool education will achieve none of these results.'" From www.cato.org
The government does education as well as it does almost everything else. The answer to our education woes is not an earlier start or throwing more money at the problem, but if a bigger government can be had by the democrats then, they reason, it must be better. Somewhere a village is missing its' Hillary.

Al Gore's Live Earth a Huge Waste

Al Gore's Live Earth rock concert bragged that it would be beamed into two billion homes but many, it seems, choice not to watch.
Fox News reports that NBC had a viewership of 2.7 million, about average for the summer.

The numbers in Britain weren't spectacular with 4.5 million tuning in, only about a third who watched the Princess Diana Tribute concert six days earlier.
Critical reviews included"a foul-mouthed flop" by The London Daily Mail and "a dismal affair" by London Daily Telegraph.

Well, no matter, Al Gore will surely receive a special Grammy award for his efforts, and all the overpaid musicians and actors who participated can board their respective Lear Jets and feel "really good" about themselves.

This sort of self-absorbed claptrap is the worse kind of extravagance. What a waste. Of resources. Of talent. Of time.

I Got a Speeding Ticket

I got a speeding ticket, I avoid paying it for several years, when the authorities finally got serious enough to issue a warrant for my arrest, the sheriff decides it's not his job to go looking for me. I went about my daily life for several more years. Then I'm pulled over for expired tags on my automobile. The officer clearly knew I had an outstanding warrant but instead of arresting me he decides that there are bigger fish to fry and lets me go with the promise that I turn myself in and assures me that the Judge will overlook the fact that I have become a chronic scofflaw. The Judge will also grant me a full pardon plus free health care, educate my children and let me live in his big house on the hill as long as I vote for him in the next election. There, the immigration proposal so even Ted Kennedy can understand.
