Al Gore's Live Earth rock concert bragged that it would be beamed into
two billion homes but many, it seems, choice not to watch.
Fox News reports that NBC had a viewership of 2.7 million, about average for the summer.
The
numbers in Britain weren't spectacular with 4.5 million tuning in, only
about a third who watched the Princess Diana Tribute concert six days
earlier.
Critical reviews included"a foul-mouthed flop" by The London Daily Mail and "a dismal affair" by London Daily Telegraph.
Well,
no matter, Al Gore will surely receive a special Grammy award for his
efforts, and all the overpaid musicians and actors who participated can
board their respective Lear Jets and feel "really good" about
themselves.
This sort of self-absorbed claptrap is the worse kind of extravagance. What a waste. Of resources. Of talent. Of time.
